Megha Anand Awarded Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year from the Northeast Georgia Section of the American Chemical Society

Megha Anand, a graduate student at the UGA Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry, was awarded Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year from the Northeast Georgia Section of the American Chemical Society. She received this award in her last year as a graduate student working under the direction of Professor Henry F. Schaefer III at the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry.

Sarah Elliott Awarded Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship

Sarah Elliott, a graduate student in the UGA chemistry department, was awarded the Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF). Sarah is currently a first year student working under the direction of Professor Henry F. Schaefer III in the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry. She is the second student from UGA to receive the DOE CSGF, and the first in fifteen years.

Alex Sokolov receives Martin Reynolds Smith award for the best research paper

Alexander Sokolov, a graduate student of Prof. Henry F. Schaefer, received Martin Reynolds Smith Award for the best research paper published in the refereed journal by a graduate student. Alexander received this award for the paper he published in the Journal of Chemical Physics titled "Orbital-optimized density cumulant functional theory" (J. Chem. Phys. 2013, 139, 204110).
