Fourth Year Graduate Student

Hometown: Slidell, Louisiana

B.S. in Chemistry, Louisiana State University

Research Interests

Drew was born and raised outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry. He joined the Wheeler Group at Texas A&M in the Fall of 2015 and transferred to UGA with the group in January, 2017. In his spare time he enjoys learning about general health and fitness as well as nutritional cooking.

Drew’s research concentrates on non-covalent interactions and their function in biological systems. He is currently working to understand the role of π-stacking interactions in a series of naphthyridine-based sensors that specifically bind guanine nucleobases. His future work will expand on the non-covalent interactions at play in larger biological systems, affording a better understanding of their impact on form and function.
